Our take
Take Flight is a two-year structured literacy curriculum for dyslexia from Scottish Rite for Children, for ages 7 and up, taught only by people trained to the therapy level. Scottish Rite recommends four 60-minute or five 45-minute sessions a week for two years. Lessons teach reading and spelling of the patterns, with dictation, and one provider describes the curriculum as covering all 44 sounds, 96 letter-sound rules and 87 affixes. Several independent practices deliver it online; none we found publishes prices.
A good fit for
- Children with dyslexia who can commit to four or five sessions a week for about two years
- Families who want certified academic language therapists
Look elsewhere if
- Children under 7
- Families who want to see prices up front
